Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is a national volunteer program that brings fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father figures onto campus to support students, staff, and school safety. At Wortham, Watch DOGS spend the day walking the halls, checking doors, and helping wherever they're needed โ including lunch duty, which volunteers consistently say is one of the best parts of the day.
Time with your student โ you'll get to interact with your child and their friends during the school day, not just at pickup.
A visible layer of safety โ Watch DOGS are a familiar, trusted presence walking the building throughout the day.
No special skills required โ just a willingness to show up. Volunteers are guided through the day by staff.
Flexible commitment โ sign up for a single day that works for your schedule; there's no ongoing obligation.
Every father figure is welcome โ dads, grandfathers, uncles, and other father figures in a student's life can all volunteer. Wortham holds a Watch DOGS kickoff at the start of the year to walk new volunteers through what the day looks like. Fill out the form below to sign up for a day or to get more information.
